ABOUT US

Our story begins with Tara Nagel.

Tara Nagel was an angel on earth who lost her life in a terrible car accident in November 2005. Before leaving us, Tara had found her vocation in working with companion animals and was an angel to the pets that were lucky enough to be under her care. Tara was such a kind, caring and compassionate person, and we are sure she has moved onto something bigger and better. She must have been called to comfort the astonishing number of pets that die without a home.

Tara’s life is our inspiration and our motivation to continue helping pets in need.

Who We Are

The Animal Rescue Alliance is a non-profit 501c3, all volunteer group dedicated to helping homeless pets in the Greater Kansas City area. Our organization is the result of an alliance between several rescuers in the Kansas City region who share the same goal of ending animal suffering and homelessness. Although we are foster home based, we also lease several kennels at a local boarding facility.

Although this little “shelter” is allowing us to save many more lives, it is an added expense which is why we rely so heavily on generous donations from caring people in the community.

In addition to rescuing pets from difficult situations, we offer courtesy listings in PetFinder, facilitate low-cost spays and neuterings, work on transfers and transports with existing rescue groups, help individuals and organizations promote, screen and educate potential adopters, fundraise to help pets with special needs, offer guidance and information about animal rescue, organize events and more.

It is the mission of The Animal Rescue Alliance to establish and maintain the ideals of Tara Nagel  with regards to the treatment of homeless and unwanted animals.

TARA is an established 501(C)3 non-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible.
